I am seeing so much trash dumped around here since this virus came to town. People are slobs. I understand unemployment and all, but there must be some other way. Maybe cities could lighten up on landfill fees during this time. I don’t know. :(

You tell them Koko, this is a human mess not a dog mess….never want to put the blame where it belongs but pass it on to some thing else.

The sign may not help, there’s been so much dumping everywhere that that trash may not be local in origin.

It was bad enough when I was a teenager, now that I’m a senior it’s even worse. So much for the ecology movement, and social consciousness. People are bigger slobs now than ever before. :P

When beaches opened in Florida for that short time, people from all over came. They bought cheap lawn chairs, umbrellas and lounges. Rather than taking them home they left them and trash on the beaches. It was a a big mess!

And at least what the dog might leave is biodegradable and not as harmful to other creatures such as all the plastic trash.

We lived on a forest service road for 14 years, less than a mile to a trail head. Once a month, we had a poop and trash clean-up morning with our dogs. We’ve wondered if anyone realized that we moved away three years plus three weeks ago. Or has someone else kept the trail clean?

wonder if the beach at enoshima still features burning tires among all the other detritus – beachgoers turned a lovely place into a huge trash dump…

This is why when I visit a beach, I do my best to complete the 10 things challenge(or whatever it’s called) which mean whenever I visit a beach, I try to take 10 pieces of garbage I find with me to the nearest garbage can, though I don’t bring gloves, so I wont be picking up any exceptionally gross garbage, but plastic, paper, metal, and cigarette buds I will pick up.

I don’t always manage 10, as the beaches here in Denmark aren’t all that littered with garbage, but I usually pick up at least a few, and if I can’t casually find anymore to throw away, then that mean the beach is pretty acceptably clean.

Of course I don’t visit the beach very often, if I did, I would probably not do it every time, but it’s a good habit I have for beach trips.
