Puerto Rico is still recovering from the hurricanes that hit in 2017. The U.S. Congress has approved nearly $50 billion to help Puerto Rico, but federal officials have only disbursed roughly $15 billion.
One of our local cemeteries, still has cheap limestone grave markers from the 1918 flu epidemic, and they are badly eroded. Many mark the graves of children, with the engraving of a lamb on each. I wonder if Trump would forbid mention of the Coronavirus pandemic on grave markers as a cause of death? Oh, that would make him and future generations of the Trump family look bad.
With Trump, everything in his world is about appearances, not substance. Comb-over, fake tan, glitzy digs, numbers, ratings, hot spouse – and per capita be damned. Mental health is, as much as anything, the ability to adjust internal representations of reality to outer reality, as opposed to attempting to force upon reality a manufactured representation of it. By that measure, he’s a sick man.
Even better plan: declare all COVID-19 related deaths as “death due to natural causes” so they do not count as COVID-19 related at all… then when that skews the death data down to zero, celebrate how Trump stopped all COVID-19 deaths!
DeSantis will be put in charge of Trump’s 2020 election tabulation commission. For every Biden vote, Trump gets five votes. Ten if your in a blue state. This will balance out the mail-in voting fraud. /s
Actually, Florida an other republican states have a much better way of dealing with those pesky “death” numbers. You see, there really is some use in planning ahead.
They refused to take part in the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid enrollment provision so all those poor people had no health care. So, rather than “cluttering” up the hospitals, they died at home (and didn’t get counted as a “Covid-19” death). A stretch? Possibly. But in the midst of a pandemic, you don’t really believe that the authorities are going to pay too much attention to a poor soul dying at home?
Keep in mind, their dear leader didn’t even want that infected cruise ship docking in California because it would raise his covid-19 virus count higher. With that level of callous indifference to human life evident, early on, is what I’m suggesting so outré?
Drump says he won’t leave the WH if he is not re-elected [or selected by the electoral college is more truthful]. I say drag him out by his feet, put him in a hazmat suit, then drag him to all the Covid wards, refrigerated trucks, funeral homes, cemeteries, then off to the sanatorium. His alt-right followers & his tv & radio hosts shout out that it’s the Chinese virus, never calling it COVID19.
