At our workplace (not “from home” work) our building maintenance guy used to bring in his little dog every day. We kept some doggy treats by the coffee machine, and the dog knew it. So every time you’d get a cup, he would go over there and give you the big eyes treatment.
The dog died a couple of years ago. We still remember him.
I never did hang out at the scuttlebut (what a water cooler is called on a ship), so I don’t miss not having these conversations. I seem to be immune to office gossip and rumor and am always the last to hear them if at all.

My cat meows back and we have a back and forth conversation. To bad I don’t know what it’s about.

Heck, you can have those conversations at the office, too.

And the cat will ignore you just like your coworkers!

This time it’s the co-worker who has the “problem”: co-workers at the coffee machine who won’t be quiet!

On the bright side, your boss never sees it or hears about what you said and it never shows up on social media.

Cats don’t like coffee. It keeps them awake.

Our cat is multi-lingual, he can ignore me in 10 languages.

I don’t see that being a problem.
