I studied to be a heating and cooling repair person at Harvard Virtual Accredited College (H-VAC).

I once took an online course in “international politics” there. I learned then that Americans really don’t know what’s going on outside of America, they think everyone reacts like an American. The following year, the course was renamed “American Politics”. Apparently the professor got it anyway.

Universities that are just getting into online classes are going to have hiccups. The courses I’ve taken online are actually more challenging than on-campus courses.

Even worse, Harvard is charging full tuition for online classes.

My cousin is a professor of criminal psychology. He records his lectures at his leisure and lets his students know when they are available so they can view them at their leisure. He then schedules a time for Q and A when they can all get together to discuss it.

The lectures last about 45 minutes. The Q&A often goes on for an hour. The students are getting more “class time” than if they were physically present.

He lives on his small farm. He once dismissed his class with, “It’s time to wrap this up. I have to go pull some stumps.”

We are all hurting here, online education isn’t near as painful as hungry kids and a wife asking for grocery money when you haven’t worked in two months.

I was thinking unaccredited, like Heartland Bible College.

Sounds like a win for the students.. they can continue living with mom and dad.

I have taught on-line University classes. Teaching one is by far more time consuming and challenging than a typical classroom course.

The real difficulty (“suffering”?) is the online virtual frat parties.

The interaction with the sorority girls just isn’t the same.

Because he wants his “base” to see him hurting “foreigners”, no matter how much harm it does to America… or even to themselves.

Not that they would be able to believe that it could hurt them in any way. After all, universities are nothing but nests “arrogant”, "elitist"¤ “leftists”. And especially, universities and their graduates have nothing to do with the economy that provides MAGAts with jobs. (/s)

¤ “Elitist” is a word they’re familiar with, though they have no idea what it really means.

I read that Trump’s new rule is that the foreign students have to attend in-person classes, but it doesn’t say how often.

Maybe universities that want to keep their students should consider live lectures being broadcast to the majority of students (big-screen Zoom, even?), with in-person attendance staggered — different students on different days — to maximize social distancing.
