Wrong approach. You got up there – you can get down. You have down that before. This is no different. (true story – my cat was on top of a neighbor’s one story roof. My husband saw the cat and was able to talk the cat down. I came back from a trip, was told what happened, apologised to the neighbor and told him do not worry about her, she can get down on her own. The next day the lovely dogwood tree next to the house was cut to the ground.)
We had a cat who persisted in climbing up on the roof at 1 am and screaming his head off at the upstairs bedroom window. My husband threw a pitcher of water out the window at him one night when he started his midnight serenade. He wasn’t our cat. Our cat was female and spayed and never allowed outside. The pitcher of water worked. The next night he was sitting on top the arbor next to the house. Howling his love song for the completely indifferent lady cat. Hubby got a garden hose…
The cat chased a squirrel up a very large oak tree and sat on a large limb that joined the tree at an equally large hole. She cried for assistance but we did not have a 20’ ladder so told she could get down on her own. It then became a game for her – chasing the squirrels up that tree to the hole. when it rained she would take shelter in the hole.
