Oh, Arlo. Married all these years and never noticed the honeydo list never gets any shorter. The more you cross off the list, the more that gets added to the bottom.
Our area should be entering phase 1 of going back to normal tomorrow (Wed, May 27). We are still being encouraged to stay home other than for needed errands. Not much is being added as construction and factory work is much of what is being allowed & stores can sell if they bring the items to the door. Quite frankly it is still much too scary to go out. We went food shopping for the first time since mid March last week – anxiety over doing so plus husband has trouble breathing through the mask – got him so sick he had to go bed & the anxiety drove his blood sugar down and made him even sicker.
Then we had to get our RV (Chevy van) inspected – I planned to leave it for awhile as it is on driveway, would not get a ticket, our mechanic is 4 blocks away & it would go there at night anyway as it much easier to get it off our driveway then. Husband insisted we get the inspection done. Dropping it off was not bad. Drove it over, put on masks locked the doors, dropped the key in the slot & walked home. We had taken out any thing in the front (driving) area at home to keep them from being touched or breathed on while they worked on it, before we drove it there. Picking it up tonight was another story – gloves, Lysol spray, plastic bag… Masks on & walked there carrying everything. Had to spray the door handles, seats, steering wheel with Lysol. Then drove it home and sprayed inside again and sprayed our jackets, washed hands of course. Paperwork and the key we had left are sealed in plastic bag for a week.
Live in township with highest number of cases in county with 3rd highest number of cases in our state and our state has highest number of cases in the country. Our county alone has had more cases than 48 states and many countries. Much too soon for the state to be opening at all – surprised they even opened beaches in the general area.
As it is people do not wear masks, do not keep distance, bump into us. Terrified what will happen tomorrow.
As I realized today – we – okay, I (as he has not thing to do or catch up on) – have not done anything I figured I would get done. I am adding to what has to be done every day. I still have not even finished archiving (copying to archive) my 2019 data – something I do each March with the prior year file. I normally do not get a lot of email – but what is coming in is larger in volume and the extra coming in is the sort of the email that needs a reply and takes time to do. As of today I caught up on 4 days of email. I figured I would catch up house cleaning (which I do minimally at best) – but husband always has something to waste our time with. He just wasted time – 2 days – setting up a web page and etsy account for his sister to put up a book she wrote for sale on same – at a net loss of $29 a book before allowing for fees that will charged on the sale and the $8 shipping cost – so she can put in to try to win an award for the book. I had to do things constantly to help him – pricing things out, commiserate and try to figure out a different email address to get for her as each one was rejected for things like – “other versions of this name are hacking sites”. And then all of this somehow wiped out the calendar on his computer!! Instead of cleaning the 2 bathrooms as I had planned to do with the time!
And then when I get finally get a few minutes – my 91 yo mom calls “to chat” for half an hour, 45 minutes and I have to take the call as she does not hear the phone ring when I call her so I can’t call her back!
