Drivingfuriously: Sorry. I viewed the video three times, and no one is distorting what the Orangeutan said. Well, that’s not true — his toadies are trying desperately to spin his idiocy; that would be distortion all right. Your idiot hero says idiot things and then gets all pissy when they are accurately reported. Some people would learn to think before spouting off, but not the Orangeutan!
Actually, I’ve watched this little snippet of conversation between Donnie John and one of his top medical advisors, several times. There is no detectable “sarcasm” on either side. What can be detected is an overwhelming intellectual vacuity on one side and an equally overwhelming attempt to not ‘anger’ on the other.
The conversation is basically “wheedling need for agreement” on one side, and a desperate desire to avoid being any part of the conversation on the other – but there was no discernible attempt at either sarcasm or humor on either side.
Incidentally, one glaring result of this verbal exchange is the knowledge that Trump has “broken” Dr. Birx, so she no longer a viable source of reliable information – that leaves Dr. Fauci as the sole “truth-teller” on that particular podium.
Two points at this stage of the game. (1) we’ve less than two hundred days before we can dump this steaming pile of ‘manure’, and, (2) it’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets ANY better.
Forgive me if I’ve said this on this toon before (I know I’ve said it on a few), but for years now I’ve had this operating theory: As all intelligent people know, Li’l Donnie treats his staffers very badly—including the ones who do his thinking for him. It would be quite predictable that at least some would want to get a meaure of revenge in a passive-agressive way, while still making money from Li’l Donnie. Therefore, they tell him completely ridiculous things, KNOWING that Li’l Donnie is both imbecilic and delusional. Li’l Donnie would repeat these things in public, thus making a damn fool out of himself (as far as INTELLIGENT people are concerned, natch), and never realize that he was being played, because of his sheer raw stupidity, AND he would think he came up with them on his own (thanks to his delusions). The result? Free entertainment for intelligent people! As for his desperate attempt to pretend that he was being “sarcastic to you reporters” when he was not even ADDRESSING any reporters…..ten to one the racist scumbag Stephen Miller thought that one up for Li’l Donnie to peddle. Of course, now Li’l Donnie not only thinks that HE came up with that nonsense, he probably even BELIEVES it. Truly pathetic.
Here’s a supercut of Donald Trump listing many things he knows better than anyone else does.
And keep in mind that this was put together three months ago. In the days since then, we’ve learned that he knows more about, well, any medical or health issue than anyone… especially doctors, the CDC, WHO, authors and journalists who have made the medical field their lifetime’s work, experts on vaccines, and on and on ad nauseam….
The United States used to have a team of doctors, scientists, etc. standing by listening to the news for any hint of a possible outbreak. The Obama administration set it up after an Ebola scare in Africa. They were dispatched to hot spots several times and prevented diseases from ever reaching the US, by isolating and treating them at their source. That team was disbanded by Trump in his first budget about a year after he took office.
The U.S. government’s slow and inadequate response to the new coronavirus underscores the need for organized, accountable leadership to prepare for and respond to pandemic threats. In a health security crisis, speed is essential. When this new coronavirus emerged, there was no clear White House-led structure to oversee our response, and we lost valuable time. Yes, we have capable and committed global and national disease-prevention and management organizations, as well as state and local health departments, all working overtime now. But even in prepared cities like Seattle, health systems are struggling to test patients and keep pace with growing caseloads. The specter of rapid community transmission and exponential growth is real and daunting. It’s impossible to assess the full impact of the 2018 decision to disband the White House office responsible for this work. Biological experts do remain in the White House and in our government. But it is clear that eliminating the office has contributed to the federal government’s sluggish domestic response.
What an idiot. Did you know most of the world dosen’t know this idiot was put in office by our electoral college not by voter majority. They just believe we are stupid for electing him!
Well, whether Trump is as stupid as some claim, it is incontrovertible that he is profoundly ignorant (about tariffs, for a shining example). So his brainstorm the other day about “unconventional” treatments for crononavirus infections is best seen in the light of the Gail Collins Principle: “Trump is Wrong About Everything”.

Well, of course, all these comics rely heavily on simplification and exaggeration. Actually, with this one, not so much.
