Back in the day it did not take an hour to find something good. And a commercial did not give you time to go to the bathroom.

And there’s still only three channels with something good to watch.

With Hulu, Netflix and Disney Plus, sometimes I wonder why I still have cable.

Lower standards back in the day.

And you didn’t get carpal tunnel surfing the channels. You made your kid get plenty of exercise changing channels for you.

We had the BBC (no adverts) and ITV… Today we spend longer flipping through Netflix and Prime than we do watching the actual film or TV series…

I know how he feels. That is why I like my collection of DVDs so much. Reba is my favorite.

I’ve recently started watching reruns of “Law & Order.” Pretty good program, I think.

I beg to differ..I remember those three channels and there was still crap on……

As a wee laddie we had ABC, CBS, NBC, DuMont and 3 indie stations one of the indies caused my love for classic film with its programming named MILIION DOLLAR MOVIE, the other two indies fostered my love of classic cartoons…anyone else remember Cocoa the Clown and the Little King?

That’s a myth. It doesn’t matter the number of channels. Everything is crap :D

I remember, back in the late 50s, if you didn’t like westerns, you might as well read a book.

Given that a lot of current talk shows are made at home.. most (all?) the series are reruns from years ago.. Why are we getting more and more commercials. Seems the cost of providing the shows has gone down big time..

When I was a kid, we had 13 channels. Ten of them showed static; the other three showed golf. I usually watched the static. Now I have over 200 channels. And I still prefer the static. </Groucho voice>

I always liked the test pattern. Now that was entertainment, especially if the vertical control went wacky.

“Finding” is the key word here. Having too many choices does not make things better.

That’s also why people didn’t watch as much TV. I remember as a kid I played outside much more then watched TV.

Now there’s nothing on to watch or there’s five or six things on that you want to watch…

Yeah, Over 200 channels and Over 150 of them Pure Garbage and /or Duplicates. :-}

Truer words were never spoken….CBS, ABC, NBC and WOR.

… And when you couldn’t, there was always PBS.

When the channel options are limited, the best programming goes to those limited options

Nearly 250 channels and the best thing I can find is the Next Channel button.
