I commented on one of yesterday’s ’toons that it was REALLY too bad that this administration had chosen to put us so far into debt just before we hit an actual crisis that is actually going to cost a lot more than we have. And that it was REALLY too bad that this administration was so slow to realize the need to take serious steps to address it.

The climate crisis is very similar in that we have already spent a lot of our credit with Gaia (things like how much CO₂ the oceans can dissolve without becoming too acid)… and now we’re facing the need to do something and we don’t have much wiggle room. And it is very similar in that this administration (and many around the globe) have bee so slow to realize the need to take serious steps to address it.

And as the changing climate reduces our habitable zones, disease and famine will increase.

As world-wide as the virus.

This “administration’s” attitude reminds me of a Louisiana hurricane party, Let’s get together and watch the fun."

“Trumpy Bumpy Weather”

Don’t know why

Such a storm came down from the sky,

Trumpy weather,

Since our house ain’t no more together,

Kids cryin’ all the time.

My town ain’t there,

Debris and trees fallen ev’rywhere,

Trumpy weather,

It’s tough to get life back together,

I’m scramblin’ through the dirt and grime,

So tired all the time.

When Trump came to pow’r, MAGAs were so elated,

He promised to get tough, to fight those we hated.

But since that time, my misery’s gone unabated,

And now these virus deaths do soar.

.

How to survive?

I wait for checks that don’t arrive,

Trumpy weather,

At least my family is together,

Just here huddlin’ and bidin’ our time …

Maybe I’ll vote for Biden next time.

It does appear

There’ll be no polling places near,

Trumpy weather,

And don’t know even whether

The postman will ever come here,

Vote-by-mail is unclear.

More storms forecast,

As are Trump’s briefings with bombast,

Trumpy weather,

Continues on, it seems like forever,

Four more years of Trump seem certain,

He’s like an evil Oz behind the curtain —

Taking brains, hearts, and courage —throwing dirt in.

Planet Earth is in shambles….

Nature marches to its own drummer.. trumps sharpie not withstanding

It’s said that the good thing about science is that it doesn’t care what you believe. Science is going to bite us all on the ass.

I think we’re expecting way too much from this administration. Generalissimo Narcissimo is fully and completely incapable of doing this or any job he has ever had. Hopefully his time on this one is rapidly running out!

You know which governmental agency IS taking climate change very seriously? The Pentagon. The massive calamities and displacements climate change will bring on will make people all around the world desperate, and desperate people do violent things. Exhibit A: Bangladesh, 8th most populous nation on Earth, with 165 million people crammed into 150,000 km² (pop density 1105/km², compared to 35 in the US) with an average elevation of 10 m above sea level. It shares a long border with nuclear-armed (and itself overcrowded) India. When the oceans rise and all those people scramble desperately for higher ground, it’ll destabilize that region to an extent that’ll make the Vietnam War seem like a Sunday picnic.

When man refuses to clean up the problems that he causes to Mother Nature, Mother Nature cleans up her problems with man…

Anyone wondering is the nanoscale virus is traveling in these moisture laden winds? It’s bigger than a sneeze.

If anything, the Loyal Trumpies in charge of various Federal agencies are taking the opportunity to make things Worse while everyone is focused on the Virus.
