Sonny’s mother doesn’t seem like the type to allow swimwear to go unwashed. I’m surprised he didn’t have to throw his swim trunks and shirt into the clothes hamper as soon as he got back from the pool party.
Minor changes from the original, mostly in that Lottie was redrawn (in whole or in part) for most of the panels. Panel 7 seems unchanged, and in panel 3, her eyes were in Mildred’s direction, rather than Sonny’s as seen here. In panel 1, the position of her head and hands are different now, although the same general pose was maintained (so her arms and body don’t appear to have been redrawn). Panel 2, Lottie was completely redrawn, although she’s still in the same basic pose. The art (but not the dialogue) for panel 4 is completely new. Lottie was originally sitting completely on the desk (including one foot up on the desk, and the other could be seen hanging off the desk), the angle was facing down so that the top of the desk was visible, her bag wasn’t in the panel, the window was more to the left, and the Navy recruitment poster wasn’t there at all.
Everything else (including Mildred and Sonny, the “No Smoking” clown poster, and the “Water Kills” poster) all appear to be exactly as they were in the original.
Not sure why the changes, but I got to spend way too much time comparing the two comics, and time spent examining Bad Machinery is never time not well spent, right?

I wonder what would have happened if a young girl had kept the skin. I’ve never heard of it playing out like that.
