SECNAV that has zero tact, professionalism, etc vs Captain who’d bust a gut for his crew? Hmm… Gimme a nanosecond. And the creep didn’t even have the guts (instead of the word everybody is thinking) to address the crew in person, he uses the freaking intercom. I understand the Navy has a term that suits SECNAV to a T – dunsel.
I wonder what the response would have been had Captain Crozier merely sailed back and docked into the nearest naval base, and then told his superiors he had a Covid-19 outbreak aboard his vessel. About the same, I suppose.

Like the man that appointed him, Modly is so childish and insecure he flew to yell at the sailors on the ship for cheering their departing captain, because he took it as a personal insult.
so that can possible be considered scatter shot murder, and similarly scatter shot murder is happening in Wisconsin where Trump political and court cronies are forcing poll workers and voters to face risks instead of simply delaying the election day.
My hope for both is that as many people around the world as possible learn of these things, and my hope for the second is that enough Wisconsin Republicans write-in vote for someone OTHER than Trump for the Republican candidate to signal to the nation that not everyone is willing to completely surrender their morals to go along with these attacks on American citizens.
Trump is doing his best to make sure that the military folks understand that he never had their backs and never will. Trump only cares about the planes and the tanks. The men and women of the armed forces don’t really count.
And of course, Captain Crozier cared about his sailors. I guess we’re not allowed to care about others according to the Chinese and American governments.
Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly resigned Tuesday after traveling nearly 8,000 miles to Guam to berate thousands of sailors on Monday, later saying he stood “by every word,” and then subsequently apologizing for the remarks within the span of about eight hours.

C’mon – Modly & T Rump were just trying to make it easier to blame Crozier for weakening morale (by ensuring it themselves).
