Our country’s leaders?…Sheesh…We really need to require our politicians to have greater moral and ethical standards for themselves….enough is enough!…. It gets worse when they get to slide out of the illegality of their actions. Isn’t it about time that the constitutional rule of law is upheld ?… Why aren’t we screaming “FOUL” on these buggers? Why aren’t we requiring politicians to actually be be responsible for their crimes?

At least the Dems were raising the alarm, while the greedy lying Republicans reassured everyone that everything was all right as they cashed in and put the public in danger.

How about if we start by getting rid of all of the GOP… That’s just the beginning… Then we’ll work on absolutely everyone in politics who ignores the law… Let’s start with the *resident Chief in charge of the corruptovirus team that he has built in Washington. He now wants to be considered a wartime president… He wants to be considered America’s Hero by solving the crisis that he helped cause… every single day he invents a new strategy to confuse his voters and get them to believe some new lies to get them to vote for him… In spite of the fact that he is the most corrupt, the most hated president in our history…. and that is a long long time …..he’s going to be remembered as the man who destroyed our country. Don’t forget, he did all of this for his BBF Putin Puppet Master.

Doesn’t this violate the Stock Act that criminalizes insider trading? Why do we not question who the parties select for candidates to assure us that they are not corrupt or have anti-social/criminal tendencies? Is any realistic vetting being done?

    “…

Both Burr and Loeffler are adamant they did not engage in insider trading, the buying or selling of stocks based on private or classified inside information. And two other senators — Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK) — who reported large trades around the same time also say the sales were unrelated to coronavirus.

There’s a long history of lawmakers profiting off stock trades, possibly from information they gleaned from their roles in Congress. So much so that Congress passed the Stock Act in 2012, which spelled out that lawmakers were expressly prohibited from insider trading and gave the House and Senate ethics committees the ability to implement new ethics rules. At least one lawmaker has received jail time in recent years over insider trading charges.

    …"

I’m putting my money into buggy whip factories, because Lord knows there are PLENTY of politicians who deserve to be whipped!

This activity is encouraged, no penalty, not even a reprimand, this is the way it works now.

This is why civil war is being declared (war on poor) by the current administration.

So far in history, every single empire that has reached this stage (no exceptions) has perished shortly thereafter. It will be referenced to Trump in the history books but that is small consolation to the dead.

Lord knows, I have zero respect for both of my senators. But even I don’t think Burr should resign. No, I’m much more in favor of a speedy trial and public execution, in his case.

Since the courts are being thoroughly packed with judges like them, the odds are good that they’ll get off scott free.

It’s bad enough that the optics point to informed, insider trading, but there are reports that these two prize specimens were also advising some of their contacts to “dump and run”. Additionally, the dumping of stock to realise gains and “go liquid” might be seen to be prudent and defensible in some circumstances. However at least one of those involved went liquid and use the liquidity to purchase stock in companies like Citrix. Part of me admires the adroit choices made. Get out of a tanking market. Pick stocks which will over perform in the coming blood bath and get into them cheap. It’s pure genius. Wouldn’t you want intellects of this calibre working for you… oh, hang on, they don’t seem to be using the intellects for altruistic objectives…

Politicians (of both parties) have systematically created for themselves an “American Aristocracy” where they live a life of privilege and play by an entirely different set of rules than does the populace in general! It is discouraging, and beginning to boil in the hearts and minds of the common folks.
