I hope the Democrats do not screw Sen. Sanders out of the nomination if he wins it. He is playing their game by their rules and if he wins, he wins. I think their fears are unfounded.
Bernie has the best chance of winning because he has the best chance of energizing the base of the democratic party. Nothing will depress voter turnout more than nominating a milquetoast candidate like Biden. Unfortunately the democratic establishment would rather lose to Trump than nominate a true progressive like Sanders.
Has anyone noticed that it’s the institution of primary elections itself which is polarizing the nation? To win the Democratic nomination, you have to skew left; to win the Republican nomination, you have to skew right. No wonder the exasperated middle-of-the-road majority of the country is disgusted with extremism.
The solution is to do away with primary elections altogether. Anyone who can get X number of signatures on a nominating petition can get on the ballot in any given state, and we use instant-runoff voting in the general election to determine the winner. That way the moderates at least have a fighting chance. Right now they’re screwed, and the country keeps lurching back and forth from the right to the left, each administration trying to undo whatever its predecessor managed to accomplish.
I voted for Bernie in the 2016 primary over Hillary, but in the general election, I voted for Hillary because I felt she had the better chance of defeating trump. I hope if Bernie legitimately loses the primary, he steps aside and supports the nominee instead of fracturing it because of his ideals (that I agree with.)

Imagine how great it would be to have a normal president, whoever he may turn out to be!

Honestly, I think this is more about the press pundits filling time than reality.

America loses if Sanders wins.

The odd thing is that in 2016, the GOP was claiming Trump can’t win. They were right by 3,000,000 votes, but that didn’t matter. /s
