Oh, another straw in support of the cancel culture. When will you kids learn that tuning things out and ignoring what you don’t like doesn’t make the irritant go away? Irritants and life’s displeasures abide. Your solipsism isn’t the defense you think it is. It just makes you more anxious.
Oh my. I like today’s comic and it made me laugh…. but two points:
1. I agree with Gutbloom’s statement about the “cancel culture”.
2. The idea of “anti-noise” being represented by black word clouds and white writing is an eloquent portrayal in a “goateed, anti-Spock” sort of way….. but… it is also kind of creepy looking too!
It’s so cool that in a strip in which the the characters don’t move, but motion (of intangible speech!) is portrayed so effectively. We all know the speech bubbles are going to overlap perfectly after the last panel, and that’s funny, but it’s not the funniest part. The sliding speech bubbles is the big joke. I like when Olivia has a little joke before a bigger joke, and the execution in this strip puts the little joke both after (after the last panel) and before (we know it’s coming in panel 3) the big joke.

Looks like it takes a bit of effort to get the earphone effect to sync successfully with the original, disturbing noise.
