Yes, Romney was a traitor to Trump, but not to the United States.

Romney, by god upheld his oath of office. And his honor, integrity and decorum while he was at it. He’s 10 times… make that 1000 times the man that the Liar in Chief is. Or more.

I would expect that even people who disagree with his vote would understand that. Unless they don’t recognize  oath-keeping, honor, integrity or decorum. I am sorry to say that I’m not surprised to see that Varvel obviously doesn’t understand or recognize those attributes. Sad for him.

Varvel is a true Trump Disciple.

He and all Republican Senators, save one, have taken an oath to Trump, which overrides the oath they took at the impeachment ‘trial’ and the one they took when they were sworn in to their office.

Varvel cannot recognize Treason because his Messiah embodies it.

To Mr. Varvel and the rest of the repugnant republicans, someone weighs the facts and upholds their oath is a traitor. At least we know where you stand.

Alone, Mitt Romney decided that the country, the Constitution and his oath to God outweighed party loyalty and obligation to Donald J. Trump.

I am not a big fan of Mitt Romney, but I certainly appreciate the guts and honor it took to stand alone.

Yes, one old style Republican acted like an individual, a real one not the fake indiviual robots we have now. Though he has his faults he did the right thing. Now if more Republicans had acted Trump would be out of office and they would be free of him.

What amazes me is that those who claim to be oh so God loving/fearing make these vile statements about someone who, from everything I understand is a genuinely moral individual. I am not a fan of Romney, but I give him a lot of credit here. As he said in his Senate floor speech, he knew this was coming. Yet he still voted his conscience. How many us would be willing to go against whatever group (family, friends, job, etc.) we’re in if we knew someone was doing something illegal and/or immoral?

Oaths may not mean a lot to some people. But here’s what it’s about: When you take an oath, you can’t think one thing and say another. You are asking God to witness, on the pain of your immortal soul, that what you whisper in your heart is what comes out of your mouth.

Stephen Colbert honored Mitt Romney with this quote from “A Man for All Seasons”.

As all manner of evil and venom are likely to be unleashed upon us, remember that right matters.

Battle the lies. Inform the persuadable. The battle for America is upon us.

People who believe it is treason to oppose the President and his ideas don’t have a clue what real treason is.

I’m guessing Varvel decided to draw this in statue form after getting butthurt about all the confederate statues (you know, actual traitors) getting pulled down.

And this isn’t even the dumbest take on the matter. Ben Garrison drew Romney as a “turncoat” by drawing him… wearing a coat backwards.

He should’ve drawn all those Republican Senators who backed a traitor rather than backing their oath to our Constitution on that horse. Yeah, I know, it would have been crowded. At least Romney honored his oath. I respect him for that.

Depicting Romney as a “traitor”? Only half correct.

If he had voted to convict on both charges, then he might have been a real patriot.

Mr Varvel, I’m trying to understand why you would create such a comic. Are you disparaging Romney for his courage? To what end? Is it just to be controversial? Is it just for readership numbers? Just a cheap shot? That has no more integrity than all (but one) of the Republican senators. Where is your integrity, sir?

Romney gave a reasoned speech why for legal, Constitutional, and religious reasons he voted for impeachments. All the things Republicans USED to stand for.
