I live in tornado alley, it is different than in hurricane area. I’m 71, and have seen 2 tornadoes, one in my area of far eastern Oklahoma that hit a community center and that was all the damage. The other in the Texas panhandle. Tornadoes can do damage for sure, but at the moment I’m seeing a tornado warning for south of Boston. It comes from the leftovers of a hurricane. It is easier to stay safe from a tornado, we have a tornado shelter, than a hurricane. I know of no hurricane shelters.
Math is the reason I didn’t try to become an astronomer.
I love the digression from politics.
And we’re exchanging “cheap” Christmas gifts we mailed to each other.
My first Christmas in July was at Philmont Scout Ranch in 1970. It is still special and tonight, we’re going to have a Zoom reunion with some of the guys I worked with that summer and summers after.
I can be trusted; I’m loyal to institutions more than individuals; I try to help when I can; I’m kinda friendly for a while, but don’t bore me please; courteous yes; kind to almost anything but pests; obedient to my wife of 49 years; kinda cheerful when something cheers me up; thrifty nope; brave in certain situations; clean yes; reverent yes, but not if I have to go to church everytime the doors are open. I was in scouting from about 1958 at 8 years old until my sons left the program for other things in the mid 1980’s, even worked at Boy Scout camps including Philmont Scout Ranch, I never saw any kind of abuse.
But God, why didn’t you save me from COVID? A person said after he got to the pearly gates. God says, “I sent you a vaccine.”
The picnic is in the country of Guine-Bissau next to a bay leading to the Atlantic Ocean.
Where have you gone?
