The little troglodyte is hallucinating again!! Mom, give him a booster dosage of whatever calms him!!

More super heroes should wear safety goggles. No, no, I don’t need glasses. These are safety goggles for my super hero work.

And Nuke Man with moustache turns into Zorro .

I noticed that even though Calvin imagines Hobbes as a real tiger, he doesn’t seem to mind when his mom calls Hobbes a stuffed animal.

Wow, what a drama queen Calvin is…

Now there’s a kid with an extremely over-active imagination! He’ll likely make a very good living someday, or else end up in an institution…

LOL! Calvin sure didn’t expect Mom to take Hobbes’s side!

Hobbes can be such an Az sometimes. I mean really. Wait, Hobbes is a stuffed tiger. So who is the Az?

Is Hobbes one of those no-nukes nut jobs?

Wow, I expected better manners from Hobbes.

Hobbes certainly is literate. He has spoken of both George Orwell and Kafka. Despite his knowledge of these writers, his spelling seems very poor as in last Sunday’s strip where he spelled “Hobbes is great” as “Hobs = grat”.

This aspect of the Calvin and Hobbes relationship seems to be based on Watterson and his younger brother Thomas Watterson who shares the same forename as Thomas Hobbes.

Besides being partly influenced by Bill Watterson’s younger brother and by Thomas Hobbes, Hobbes was also influenced by the kid who lived next door to the Wattersons and was Bill Watterson’s partner in the anti-girl alliance which inspired the GROSS club. He was also influenced by the adult Bill Watterson’s cat Sprite who epitomized Hobbes’s feline characteristics including the tendency to leap on Watterson when he returned home.

Mom should get a little more upset about this. 30 years from now, mint condition copies of those comic books will be worth thousands of dollars.

It’s either further evidence of Calvin’s imaginative craziness, or a scheme to get more comic books, because the old ones are “ruined”.

As long as Hobbes doesn’t pull Nukeman #1 out of it’s plastic cover and damage it.

I think Calvin needs to be evaluated by a Psychiatrist very soon!
