This may sound like bragging, but I can name every dog in the neighborhood by their bark. They have distinctly different tones and inflections. All except for Lucy and Ethyl, the mother & daughter Yorkies two houses away. Cracker runs all the barks together, Shiloh kind of squeaks at the end, Sissy is loud but not aggressive, Molly is a bit hoarse, Jax has a deep throaty voice, Casey is high-pitched for his size, and Lola is a Beagle—nuff said.

Dogs don’t do fake barks, they are always bona fidos.

It’s easy! The barks you choose to believe are only real ones.

why would there be a fake bark?

Ringtones, alarms (even a car alarm once), alarm clocks, solar powered barking lawn ornaments (with no cord to cut… but tinted film for car windows work wonders)…
