@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny our Hero Mr Andrew Capp rightfully deserves a plaque for his achievements , but not for falling in the canal :o) my avatar today shows the right answer a smart young lady can give to an old geezer who thinks he is God’s gift to women :o) how was your day? our Manic Monday should be busy as usual , but calm I hope , have fun and BCNU pal.

In actual fact a Blue Plaque to Reg has never been erected, in Hartlepool or anywhere else.

It should’ve said, “First canal Andy fell in!” LOL

Flo asked for it to be made, well she asked for one for all the different spots he fell in but the budget would not stretch that far. It is a shame as they would have made a good barrier.

They could’ve at least said: “Andy Capp made a splash here!” :D

There would be a lot of signs. Andy Capp fell in the canal here, and here, and here, and here, and here, and here, and here, and twice here, and here, here, and here, and over there.

Great way to honor Reg’s birthday and to have the strip in black & white

Is there really a park bench in London with a statue of Andy Capp sitting on it?

I’ve got an idea. The have Bloomsday in Dublin, Ireland commemorating James Joyce’s fictional character Leopold Bloom in Ulysses with a pub crawl and a visit to all the Joycean landmarks from the book, retracing Bloom’s route around Dublin.

Why not have a Cappday in Hartlepool? We could do a pub crawl through all of Andy’s favorite watering holes including stopping at the infamous Canal to pay tribute to his watery nemesis?

not enough signs

I guess frequency is related to importance.

There are smaller signs every fifty yards reading “And Here…”

They should at least have a scoreboard for the number of times he fell in.

They probably have signs like that all along the canal.
