I had a cat once that did that sort of thing on purpose. I saw it run from the kitchen to the front room, hitting the floor mat in front of the fireplace on the way- it slid across the vinyl & crashed into the far wall. It got up, shaking itself, I said: “Stupid cat” and put the mat back…doggone if it didn’t go back and do the same thing again!
For some reason, the linoleum under the rugs is slippery, when one moves them to shake them or whatever. One time, while I was away at college, my siblings scrubbed down the floor with magic erasers. It worked great and looked amazing, but apparently made the whole surface slippery for a while, lol.

We only have polished wood and tile. My kids used to love the “sock slide” across the 20 foot living room, and my cats still love it!

Cool. A doggie magic carpet. At least until she gets to the rug.

That made me laugh! Sophie’s face, as she whizzes by, is priceless.
