Hearing that, makes you wonder if there is as much chance of the Republicans turning progressive as there is the Democrats will. Why do Democrats now fear progressives so much?
One of images seared in my mind during Obama’s inauguration was that of the curmudgeonly invalid Cheney. Hunched over, blanket covered, and scowling in his wheelchair, he was the very embodiment of Old Man Potter; a well and truly deserved state of affairs was that, too.
Independents will leave Democrats and what remains of your GOP pals rolling in the dirt if you don’t catch on that parties are a thing of the past. Have the lessons of Trumpism taught you nothing?
Mmm, yeah. I don’t think that’s what Obama means. He has been for incremental change. Some Americans want radical change. But not everyone is aboard with that. The harder you push the harder they push back.
I have noticed that since you announced for congress, the cartoons have been coming out more regularly. Maybe this is good for your self-discipline. You could get on the congressional “Run the Trains on Time Committee” and show off your new found pragmatism.
I miss him! And I get that he probably disappointed some people with his advice, the fact remains that you have to be elected before you can change anything from the inside. And the sheeple in this country will follow the shrillest voice telling them who is the wrong candidate rather than actually think for themselves. Thanks Brian-once again giving us plenty to ponder.
He was (and is) intelligent, well spoken, well informed and very good at sounding good to (moderate) liberals. But his actual policies were far from what I consider perfect. Some of that was undoubtedly the impossible House and Senate that he had to deal with. But some if it, I think, was simply that he really does think it’s okay to support the obscenely wealthy and not make waves.
Brian,I hear that Cenk Uygur is also running for Congres in a special election in California’s 25th district. This election will replace Katie Hill who resigned.

I love the guy, I don’t love his “Don’t rock the boat” advice.

How about “We do” instead of “We can”?

Uh, okay. Sort of like hearing “Born To Be Wild” or “The Times They Are A’Changin’” played in easy-listening Muzak mode.

And now we have Republicans swinging meat axes to destroy the USA government as they praise Putin.
