I am hoping the GOP will now get of it’s collective ass and finally stand up against this damned idiot in the shitehouse (no longer White House). You mice going to do it?
I think our pullback from Northern Syria was the worst foreign policy blunder of Trump’s career, and quite possibly the worst since the beginning of the Iraq war. From all three recognized IR perspectives: Realist, Liberalist, Idealist (Constructivist), it was a bad move.
The Realist says “The Kurds are one of America’s most important allies in the Middle East: more than that, they need us. We should not make any moves that would cause them to drift toward our enemies or weaken them”
The Liberalist says “The Kurds have a relatively functioning democracy: it is our duty to protect democratic states”
The Idealist says “By betraying the Kurds, we create a new meaning for America in the eyes of Middle Eastern actors: they will see us as highly untrustworthy, and will make it more difficult to build meaningful alliances.”
When all three perspectives say no, the answer should never be yes
how does taking troops out of Syria and saying it cost too much but then turning around and sending 10,000 troops to Saudi Arabia in the same week if not day
Run rabbits run.. Never has there been such a display of a cowardly retreat.. Putin is really pulling trumps strings.. got to make America proud to witness this shameful action in the Mid East
My second thought was of the military. Forcing them to abandon fellow soldiers with whom they lived and fought. Trump is a monster who imposes his cowardice and disgrace onto those who fight for our country. (My first thought was, of course, for the Kurdish.)

Really? Trump’s decision resulted in innocent people being slaughtered, ISIS prisoners escaping, and trust between our allies being shattered, and the best you can come up with is “commander-in-thief”?
For YEARS the GOP has been the party of “if you don’t support the troops, you’re anti-american” What changed?
Hey how about tomorrow you copy/paste this cartoon

and replace Obama with Trump and the Gitmo label on the cage door to ISIS.
The American servicemen are merely plastic pieces to be moved around a wargame board by the Nitwit-in-Chief. When he is bored with the “game”, he merely slings the pieces onto the trash pile. Welcome to the new America. GREAT isn’t it? /s I notice the line of Turkey going too far in Syria mysteriously disappeared from the Nitwit’s babbling.
WE went in and got the Kurds to assist us, again, like in Iraq. Bonespurs disgraces us all before the world. Oh, right, he’s a “better red than dead” friend of Putin’s shoving the US over the edge. I think that’s called treason.

Trump neither knows, nor cares to know, what service men and women think. To him, they’re inconsequential things which he uses up and discards.

Don’t worry, he is sending you to Saudi Arabia to act as very expensive private security.
