I was in Viet Nam for a year. I love wings! But most people didn’t, so the chow hall always had plenty of wings. Cooks were more than happy to load me up with wings.

I was in the Navy on submarines and we got Naval Aircraft carrier chickens, nothing but wings and landing gear.

Chicken wings use to be the least expensive part of the chicken. That’s what my mother would buy. Not so anymore.

Props still go to the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY, where the hot wing was born in 1964.

My dad refused to eat Spam because he had so much of it in the army stationed in New Guinea. God bless our veterans.

Wings, if cooked well are geat. Just pop them in your mouth and suck off the meat and spit out the bones one by one.

While some Vets got the part of the Chicken that went over the fence last, I gladly took a wing.

I used to think that chicken wings (along with necks and gizzards) were only good as bait for catching blue crabs! ;o]

I’ve always thought that Chicken Wings, under whatever name, are one of the greatest scams ever foisted on the public…

Before KFC did their Hot Wings, there were variations of Buffalo Wings in bars and small restaurants across the country. They are taking credit as they might be the first national chain to sell them. I’ve only had them a few times and I’m still not impressed much.

I was in the 1st inf. and then the 9th inf. don’t remember getting any chicken or any prepared meals, just C rations that we heated with C4.

Hmmm, all the wings I ever got in the Air Force were made of metal and filled with JP-4.

Happily, by the time I got there in ’78, the food had improved immensely.

In the early 1980s bars around here used to have free chicken wings at happy hour. No restaurants had them on the menu and pretty much nobody really cared about them anyway. Now you can hardly find them for less than a dollar each! Even frozen ones.

Chicken is about the only meat my Father in law got when he was young. All their beef cattle had to be sold to pay the bills. By the time I met him he would not eat chicken, he would almost puke if you stuck it in front of his nose, which I learned, you do not do!

Thanks to all the Vets in comments above, and sorry to all for your terrible loss! The Veteran gave his life once, but the family has to live with it every day.
