No, these colors do NOT run. Nor do those who serve this Nation run. Nor does this Nation run. It is the elected leaders who run. Some, like Reagan in Beirut, from fear. Some, like tRump, from treason. Some Americans need to vote better.

Trump cut a secret deal with Erdoğan that serves his own interests. That’s what he always does. He doesn’t care about anything else. It’s not complicated.

What’s really sad is that Hair Furor has reinforced the ISIS meme that America will abandon allies for oil or money, or in Mr. Trump’s case, just for saying “some very nice things about me.”

In the approximately five years the USA has been involved in the conflict in Syria, about half a million people have been killed.

About three thousand were Kurds.

A total of four were US service members.

The Kurds were doing all the heavy lifting in their alliance with us. They had cemented friendships with American officers and service members. Many of those US forces would gladly stay to support their Kurdish comrades, having seen their sacrifices and bravery in support of the American forces.

I don’t doubt that this out of the blue act by Trump was done in part to distract us from his ongoing scandals.

A British statesman, in the late 1800’s once said “Britain has no permanent friends: only permanent interests.” While this is probably true of all nations, at least the U.S. knows what ITS permanent interests are. $.

Clay Bennett is happy to stomp on both parties, and has done so many times. Note, however, that the job of a political cartoonist is to speak truth to power, and so inevitably any good one will spend more time attacking the party in power than the one which is not.

Even if you were correct that he was favoring Hillary (and I know as a matter of fact that he criticized her as well), when the contrast is between a demonstrably irrational, ignorant, and authoritarian-wannabe leader versus an intelligent and capable product of our past democratic process, it’s kind of obvious whom you should support.

This is why despots like the Oaf of Office hate a free press. Bujt screw ’em.
