Background checks for everything else, from jobs to credit cards, insurance to jury duty are logical and necessary facets of everyday life. Background checks for guns can join the club.

There are no reasonable arguments against it — only paranoia.

“Cars don’t kill people. Cars with drivers kill people”. No more car control. It’s my god-given right to operate a vehicle. You can have my car keys when you can pry them. etc, etc.

In fact the actual NRA (members) when polled are in favor of background checks, by a pretty large margin. (Not gonna bother to visit Google U for details, but feel free.)
