Trump’s version of the death’s head symbol straight out of Nazi Germany. How appropriate.

individual 1’s campaign of numbing the American conscience with his constant battering of our values.. our Humanitarian values… This must be what happened in Germany in the 30s under Hitler’s assault upon their moral conscience… Where is the outrage? Somehow it has gotten dulled down… At any other time in our history … no… I just thought of how little we Americans care about the cruelty inflicted upon others… Witness Andrew Jackson, Witness giving infected blankets to Indians so that they would die of diseases they had no immunity to, Witness the annihilation of the First Nations the massacres inflicted upon them by American soldiers, Witness the concentration camps that were built and housed by American citizens, Japanese-American Citizens that is… So I guess we won’t rise up in protest… But if anyone needs someone to stand with them to protest these concentration camps… I’m ready.

    Did you know:

In 1903 (the year the poem was mounted to the base of the statue) the US denied entry to 5812 hopeful immigrants because….

    wait for it….

They were at risk for “becoming a public charge”.

So much for the poor, the homeless and the wretched refuse. The US has been turning away people who cannot self support for well over 130 years. Beginning in 1882 the US barred entry to “idiots, lunatics, convicts, and persons likely to become a public charge.”

We should not forget the shipload of Jews we sent back to join the Roma, mental patients, trade unionists, homosexuals (not on Hitler’s payroll), and political opponents of the Reich.

he GOP plan is to make “All hope abandon, ye who enter here.” the literal truth, and so awful that (shudder) “they” will give it up. Seems like the wrong technique to me, but they didn’t ask, and if they had, they wouldn’t have listened to me.

    A riddle:

Question: What’s the difference between Trump’s “Detention Camps” and Hitler’s “Concentration Camps?”

Answer: The inmates in Hitler’s Concentration Camps got to sleep in beds.
