As I was contemplating the great dark screen in the living room yesterday I asked myself how we had gotten to the point where the TV has no off/on button ON the TV. It is dependent upon a remote which has gone into seclusion somewhere in the aforesaid room. It’s nuts.
Lazy society….I remember we only had 3 channels, no remote and it went off early…playing the Star Spangled Banner, with Old Glory flying in the wind……then the test pattern humming……
My tv has only the power button. I wouldn’t mind if it had the buttons to allow me to use it even without a remote. I do get up out of the chair from time to time.
