All it took was a corrupt, money-grubbing president for them to not care about debt, deficit, as long as the rich reap more money.
It was comical to use this as a symbol in the first place. Hancock, a rich merchant, got the town drunk, Sam Adams, to round up some fellow drunks to destroy cheaper tea that was harming his profits. It was an early example of forcing consumers to pay higher prices to protect big business.
Sure Lisa. Nothing should be paid for by taxation. Not health care, not education, not infrastructure, not police and fire protection, not defense. Taxation is just theft.
The Tea Party didn’t so much die, as devolve into Trumpism. Trumpism is essentially the same thing, except for two differences: The phony devotion to the Constitution has been replaced with slobbering devotion to Donald Trump, and no longer is any effort required to conceal the racism or criminal activity.
Basically, Trumpism is the Tea Party on bath salts. Like ISIS to Al-Qaeda.
The TEA Party was never really alive… Those were just racists who hijacked the party and boost their numbers… They have simply hijacked the entire Republican Party now … no need to hide behind the TEA Party anymore. And why should they when their champion is winning national elections? But… just like the TEA Party… The GOP is dying a slow death… Guess 45 IS good for something. …. side note… This wouldn’t happen if either had ANY integrity.
