Ramirez won’t answer me, but maybe he will explain to you what he thinks, in detail, a “far left” Democrat is compared to a far right Republican.

Seriously, Ramirez? STILL with that LIE about the “free stuff”?

Yeah, I get it that Goebbels promised that if you tell a lie enough times it becomes the truth, but if Joseph Goebbels is your moral role model, well, that explains a lot.

Progressive policies are NOT about expecting “FREE STUFF” any more than you expect law enforcement, emergency first responders or “free” public schools to be provided by “other people’s money.”

We all contribute and we all benefit.

There are good ways in which public resources are allocated for public benefit but which no one would seriously consider “free stuff.” for the legitimate purpose of protecting PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, maintaining public order and helping those who actually need it:

    • Universal comprehensive no-fee health care

    • Universal tuition-free public education through college

    • Guaranteed secure retirement program

    • Job retraining, job placement assistance

    • Proactive social services to PREVENT crime

    • Public infrastructure for general use and general benefit

    • Law enforcement, firefighting, emergency disaster relief

    • Military protection from foreign threats

    .

Ways in which public resource allocation is ABUSED as “free” giveaways — the real “free stuff” — are when they go to the few richest elites who already have the most with no benefit to the general public:

    • Corporate welfare (socialism for the rich)

    • Socialized professional sports (socialized football — all benefit goes to people that are very rich)

    • Tax exemptions for churches that non-believers have to make up for (socialized religion)

Yes they are compared to the made up stuff you attributed to the candidates. Trumps tweets really happened whereas the stuff you posted is fantasy Republican memes.

“Suddenly, Trump’s tweets didn’t sound that bad.” Really? Well, only if you overlook the overt racism. And only if the blatant falsehoods are ignored. And only if you skip over the spelling, grammar, and syntax of a modestly retarded chimpanzee. And only if you never, ever, compare them to subsequent actions and explanations of the apologists. You’re right; they didn’t sound that bad – they were worse.

    1. There are no socialists running for the nomination of the Democratic party. Sanders is a social democrat, and that’s quite a different thing. 2. Socialism was never about free stuff. Socialism is about not letting private individuals get rich by exploiting public resources. Socialism is about making sure that the economic system offers decent work to everyone. Socialism is about creating an economic system that allows everyone to develop their talents. Socialism, above all, is about finding social solutions to social problems.

You mean like the corporate socialism professed by the right? The free stuff ($$) given to corporations is supposed to “trickle” down to us peons, right?

I recently come across the carefully unreported problems with the USS Gerald R. Ford..

First, the catapult system: they switched from the old steam system (which has its problems, to be sure, such as complicated plumbing, the need for a separate distillation system to keep scale from building up, and so forth) to a new linear induction electric motor. It simply does not work.

Then there are the elevators which bring aircraft from the hangar deck to the flight deck. Carriers have had elevators like this since the mid 1930s, so you’d think it’d be a simple installation. They Don’t Work.

Third, the nuclear reactors are not working 100%. (I can just see Hyman Rickover turning in his grave.)

Finally, the ship is designed to do all sorts of kewl electronical talking with the F-35C variant. That doesn’t work, either. And of course the F35 doesn’t work, so even if the carrier’s stuff works, she couldn’t launch aircraft to accomplish a mission.

So far, taxpayers have given Newport News Shipbuilding, Bechtel Corp, and the like, over thirty seven billion dollars for a ship that does not work. And, to get things finally running, I’ve seen estimates of another ten billion dollars.

What was that about “free stuff” again?

Only if you think that universal access to health care without resorting to bankruptcy is worse than blatant lies and racism. And if the cost is your objection, may I remind you that we had trillions to spend on a couple of unnecessary wars and a tax cut.

Free cell phones. I know this is a minor topic in the scheme of things, but it’s one i can appreciate. As a for-instance “freebie”, i think this is a good idea. If you want unemployed folks to job hunt, make sure they have a way to communicate. Basic phones are cheap and bandwidth is plentiful.

The logo on the screen is incorrect. This is Fox’s interpretation (aka as BS spin) on what was said in the Democratic debates.

Heard a relatively moderate radio host and caller discussing how the Dems want to “confiscate more of OUR money”. Depending on what he makes, that might apply to the host, but that description doesn’t apply to middle and lower class. That’s just what the RW claims to get people to vote against their own best interests. The plan isn’t about “confiscating” money, itt is about how health CARE, education, housing and food can be available and affordable for all. The plans with specifics are available on several Dem candidates websites – start with Elizabeth Warren.

Sigh… if you don’t like the “left”, that’s fine, but stop lying and calling these things “extreme left”. No other developed country would call these things extreme.

Here’s a hint for you, the French Revolution was extreme left wing.

Wanting health care and education is common sense, not far left wing.

Republicans are total thieves and think all tax money belongs to them alone,

    they are revolting.

Not one single candidate is a socialist. Not. One. Bernie is a Democratic Socialist which is as much Socialist as a Sea horse is a horse.

“(Further/Extreme) left”. Yep. Moving left, starting from the bleeding edge of “conservative” behavior which might better be named “regressive.” Nothing wrong with that, imo.

“Free Stuff”. A flat GOPist lie that remains flat despite continual efforts to inflate it.

“Taxes”. Yep. A Fair tax policy that doesn’t buy into the proven lie of “trickle down” by whatever name, and does in fact raise incremental tax rates back to prior levels for the very rich. Are you “very rich”? Didn’t think so.

So, if that all sounds bad to you, I have to suspect you are in fact very rich, or in fact very far out of touch with the current US reality.
