Spending almost a million dollars on a parade with flyovers, tanks and a “presidential” ego trip while we have veterans being denied health care, sleeping under bridges?

Spending almost a million dollars on a parade with flyovers, tanks and a “presidential” ego trip while we can’t afford soap, toothpaste and decent care for CHILDREN?

Spending almost a million dollars on a parade with flyovers, tanks and a “presidential” ego trip while we have a draft dodger with “bone spurs” as fake as his presidency in the White House demanding military honors?

Trump promises that this will be a parade and display of military might UNLIKE ANY PRIOR celebration. And of course he is right on that one. It will be unlike any other because REAL U.S. presidents don’t have huge military parades glorifying war.

Dwight D Eisenhower, the last decent Republican, who did not claim “bone spurs” and understood war from personal experience, was asked as president about a military parade and he rejected the idea. He said it was what weak leaders did to look strong. He said it was what dictators and tyrants do, not nations that are strong and free.

Kinda’ like the idea of Bonespurs standing in front of the tank, with a brake failure.

George Patton would not have stopped. He’d have gunned the engines and rolled on.

Me thinks he’s compensating for something.

I would have been more impressed had it been a row of THINK tanks, but then I remembered it’s a Trump parade and he knows more than generals do anyways.

Wouldn’t it be funny if one of the turrets started to rotate in Trump’s direction.

The tanks would be more impressive if the could actually be driven. North Korean, Russian, and Chinese infrastructure must be superior.

Personally, I can’t wait to see Donny’s new Sherman tanks. Nice to have such a moron as Commander-In-Chief.

Will there be a paid cheering section for the cameras to zoom into.. or will trump rely on the free spirit of his base.

Don’t worry. Mitch McConnell will be there with paper towels to wipe up. On the fifth of July. Maybe. Oh wait, Congress is in recess. Maybe in August. But certainly with all “deliberate speed.”

Park Service diverts $2.5 million in fees for Trump’s July Fourth extravaganza.

Cry baby Trump had a full scale tantrum at the White House the other night after being told tanks will not be allowed on Penn Ave.

Trump did not spend a dime – the tax paying Americans did.

Why did Trump dress up for Halloween naked, wearing nothing but a potato wrapped around his waist? Because he wanted to be a dicktator.

Should we not all wave, or fly our flags upside down this Fourth, signal of [political] distress? Imagine hundreds of people gathered in DC, US flags signalling distress. [I’d ask that thousands do so in DC, but I’d rather thousands Stay Away, instead…]

It continues to amaze me how the military allows this fat coward to screw over them. A good junta for about a year, until we can get a leader who is not a dictator loving bigot to try to put this torn up jigsaw puzzle of a country back together, may be a solution.

NONE of the presidents who were part of our foundation (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison) could have even conceived of putting themselves forward before our country. Lincoln, who SAVED the country, and FDR, Truman, and Eisenhower who also saved the country, could not have CONCEIVED of putting themselves before our country. They damn well knew when their birthdays were, and they damn well knew when our COUNTRY’S birthday is, and they damn well knew the difference. And hardly ANY of them paid off porn stars, ex-wives, and Russian dictators!

There are tanks in the nation’s capital and concentration camps at its border. The drift to toward the unimaginable is unmistakable.

This administration has a leader without the slightest shred of empathy for anyone, possibly excepting his kids. And even prior, better, administrations have been very reluctant to spend the kind of money it will take to deal fairly with veterans and their families who are in need. Still, it POs me almost beyond my capacity to not scream that our government spends soldiers like I spend pocket change… with which to buy bigger profits for the donor class.

My memory of why we don’t run tanks in Washington, DC, has to do with the overdone May Day parades in the Eastern Bloc. Aggression for the show of it and all that. The idea was, we were better because we didn’t have to shove the “might” of our military in people’s faces. This foolishness with having to show off our “might” leaves me queasy, because it just points up a creeping weakness!
