There’s a pill for EVERYTHING! America is truly over medicated! The drug companies are the biggest drug pushers in America…..only take what’s necessary….please! It’s all about money. Big Pharma bribes congress as well as other big Corps. To vote in their favor. This is why prices are through the roof, and nothing changes!
We have a friend who was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. Given his age – upper 80s – he decided he wanted nothing but pain meds as needed. As often as not, when we spoke he sounded awful, so much so that when he didn’t pick up, we sort of panicked. Last time we spoke we sounded great! Decided he was tired of sleeping all the time, ditched the meds, and took aspirin and long walks. “You know, if you can just keep moving, it doesn’t hurt.”
Obviously, Earl’s idea of “adventure” involves exploring the inside of an ambulance, the inside of a hospitial, the inside of a surgical theater, the inside of a casket…
Having said that, I will vote for Earl stopping his medication – we all have choices in life – as long as you’re not leaving anyone or anything destitute or grieving then it’s totally Earl’s call! (I’ve engaged in dubious syntax, but I suspect you get my drift)
I take eight different pills per day, but I have to take 4 each of some of them. So a total of 16 pills a day. Sometimes I forget to take some of them, and it doesn’t seem to matter. I’m really tired of taking pills.
When I got to the point of needing three compartments per day for the pills spouse and I take, I began to seriously consider which of them we might better eschew. The Docs are, of course, pushing in the other direction.

I know someone else who I’d love to see go without his pills but he thinks he’ll die without them.

I’m with Earl. I never take a single pill — I only take them in multiples, preferably by the handful.

Panel three: my inspiration is a super woman I work with at the food shelf. She’s 93 and she went parasailing.

Start with the ones that mother gives you. As most doctors say, “What’s the problem…. take these. Next!”

That is adventurous, considering what their ads say about stopping without consulting your doctor.

I gotcha Earl! If I don’t take certain pills I will probably get sick.

Don’t do that Earl. Skipping meds can be really dangerous.
