There is a neighborhood cat named Socks. She used to live in our building, but when her people moved, she opted to stay. Every time I call her – whether by my name for her (Soxy) or by a kissing sound – her tail goes up, she gives a sweet, loud meow, and comes running for pats & scritches. She doesn’t like to be held. Funny thing is, she IS being taken well care of, as she seems well fed and clean. Oh, and she likes my younger daughter, tolerates my husband, but my older daughter goes by a day-to-day basis. LOL
Turned out a stray in the neighborhood was fed by everyone. Friendly, let you pet him. When his main feeder moved, he came in the house and let it be known he was moving in. He continued to check out the neighborhood, but was always home at night and generally in someone’s lap.
Hugging Meemaw would be like hugging a pillow. No wonder Peekaboo loves her hugs. She reminds me of my darling Macushla who I lost nearly a year and a half ago, she was also white and very loving to me.
Our G-Pig, April (i know we talkin bout cats) used to jump up and down making squeeky noises when she wanted to be held. We wrapped her in a blanket held her like a baby and she would fall asleep as we watched Korean dramas lol,lol. It broke my heart when April died.
