The thing most people miss is that this isn’t just about reproductive rights or even just about women. This is about having autonomy over your own body. If the government can force women to carry a baby to term, it can also force “undesirable” women to have an abortion or “undesirable” men to have vasectomies.
CUMMON – We’re basically talkin’ the Land o’the Bubbas. Official dress for the young and nubile is cutoff jeans and tank tops. They want to have it all. But don’t get pregnant. After you have a few – don’t come out in public – I don’t mean beers.
Just read this article in The Guardian. Plenty of food for thought here. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/may/30/revealed-womens-fertility-app-is-funded-by-anti-abortion-campaigners?
They should legislate a companion pice that the “father” be garnished for mother and child support from the six week mark retroactively upon confirmation of pregnancy for a period of 18 years. And he should be liable for prenatal care as well as delivery costs, as those costs would be uninsured due to women having the preexisting condition of being fertile. Fair is fair. They wouldn’t brag about getting lucky anymore. Might even include a free ankle bracelet!
The quasi-theocracy that is Utah is no surprise. All self-respecting Mormons are taught that women are the inferiors of men are to be controlled at all times.
Kentucky is no surprise. Mitch McConnell is the old-fashioned type of Kentuckian, better known as inbred hillbillies. That why Mitch has no chin. His momma and his sister are the same person. Old style hillbillies believe woman are only good “fer makin’ babies ’n moomshaane whisky”
And Alabama is no surprise. That state is firmly rooted in the early 800 C.E. Most haven’t even evolved the ability to talk yet
Utah’s laws on abortion are NOT the same as the other states depicted in this cartoon. Utah’s laws support abortion in certain cases. Sloppy politics by this cartoonist.

Bubba, we don’t practice that form of tribalism. We just keep-’em barefoot, pregnant, and ignorant.
