I urge everyone to contact your congressman and senator to stop this senseless killing. I still have hope that our government can eliminate the threat.
I do not have an issue with the shooters; clearly these are not sane human beings. I do have an issue with those who encourage them by actions and mostly by INaction (are you listening Congress?) and those who continue to grant access to weapons of mass murder to people who should not have them (are you listening NRA-Controlled Congress?)
As if the NRA owned politicians would ever support such a memorial. After all, many of the victims weren’t victims at all, but paid stand-ins. After all, if the victims had been armed, there would have been less carnage (according to the NRA). After all, guns don’t kill people. I’m sure the families and survivors take great comfort in the fact that guns don’t kill people, and all those “thoughts and prayers” of course. /s
A coworker just notified me her kids school is in lockdown right now because of a shooting in a neighboring district. We’ve said the children are our future, but when it comes to them taking up the fight for gun control why do their bodies have to take so many bullets?Remember when Fox News used to complain that when there was a shooter no one thought to rush him? Well THAT is the type of gun control our kids are learning in school. “Sacrifice yourself so that we don’t have to deal with guns… Oh and to save other kids too.” That way the headlines will be about the heroic dead rather than the messed up shooter!
How many Kids were Murdered in Schools from 1776 till 1976 ? Something else is triggering these D-Bags. Guns are a constant , what else has changed in America ?
The list of memorials built to honor the lives of those who have died through violent conflict should be one heck of a lot longer than this excellent panel has shown. Sheesh, that list could go on and on and on!!! When will we learn?! Violence begets violence!!! And we have a resident who has encouraged violence from his campaign rallies clear through to his first term in office… Like the tRump worshipping bomber… Wannabe bomber.. said in an interview to an interviewer… Trump rallies are the new supplier for the ultimate adrenaline High!!!
Overheard on tomorrow’s playground— … I’m gonna shoot a Congress Man / for every next kid shot down. / So watch out all you NRA-loving reps: / Gun Billy’s comin’ to DC town.
It’s a real shame that the Trump Foundation has been dissolved. I am sure that it’s wonderful board of directors would have provided a bigly amount of seed money for the new monument, and not even insisted that the Trump name appear any where on the structure.
Most of those other memorials are for volunteers (there was a draft for Vietnam, as I clearly recall). And whether volunteer or not, everyone honored by them knew what they were going to face.
I would dearly love to see a memorial to the last civilian owned automatic-fire weapon, the last person who avoided mental health counseling because of the cost, and the last congress critter who took money from the NRA.

Hey, it’s a good education for the kids.
It will prepare them for when we invade Iran.

Republicans do nothing about the mass murders of our school children.
Republicans lock children up in cages because they want to become Americans.
Republicans only love money going into their pockets.

GOP would rather put up a National Memorial than do anything about it.
