Fanboy alert.
They did a Brave and Bold where the Phantom Stranger offers Batman a chance to travel to a different dimension and save ‘his’ parents. Ultimately Bats decides to let history play out in that world for ‘reasons’.
Life-changing events often are really just non-events if you were going to change anyway.
Bad parenting skills if this is how they left Bruce.
