Be careful what you wish for. Story in this week’s news about a car windshield being smashed by a turtle that was flying through the air after a truck smacked said turtle. The flying turtle did not survive.
Birds see the reflection of sky and trees in the glass and think they can fly safely through, especially many of our North American birds that winter in the tropics and are used to darting between the trees branches. Closing shades doesn’t help, as they still see the outside reflection. If it’s a window that gets frequent hits, you might try putting up static cling decals. I’ve had success with one in particular that looks like a spider web, which birds instinctively avoid flying through. Usually when a predator, such as an owl or hawk hits a window, they were in pursuit of a smaller bird.

Turtles don’t knock themselves out slamming into picture windows like birds have a tendency to do.

Yeah, queen ants do fly, but they lose their wings after they start a new colony.

You can’t fly with the Eagles when you run with turkeys.

Especially when they are made again. Birds crash into those windows and die all of the time.

Sometimes they get their revenge on us for all those windows. By getting a big birds to fly into a Jet engines. That can make an awful mess.
