Was that in a previous strip? I have a vague memory of Phoebe and Marigold coming across a treehouse and me referencing G.R.O.S.S. from Calvin and Hobbes.

Occasionally, I remember that there are people who only see this comic in newspapers that someone else left behind, but more often than not, there is no paper. Sometimes the comic is considerate to those people by providing important context. Here, I note that there is no specific mention of any previous plot points in the arc.
