If they’re going to continue to have separate competitions for “men” and “women”, then they should have an additional, separate competition for “trans” individuals, if they let them compete at all.
But in particular, if part of the transition includes hormone therapy, then that’s drugs and should be an automatic ban from any competition.
Meanwhile, I read of a rule — I’m not sure whether it’s been implemented or just proposed, so far — to ban from competition those whose bodies naturally produce more of certain “stimulants” than most individuals/competitors. So a person could be banned if their genetics give them a natural chemical advantage, but another can be “crowned” if their genetics give them a muscular/skeletal advantage (e.g., longer legs)? Or even crowned for having a different kind of “chemical” advantage, e.g., greater stamina in distance running?
Those of the transphobic persuasion try to use their ignorance to justify their transphobia. A little research will explain (from actual endocrinologists) estrogen treatments and their effects on transitioned bodies. Those of you who enjoy demeaning and vilifying Transgender individuals need to remember you don’t have the facts nor the support you think you do.
This is a difficult issue for me. I support transgender people living their lives in the activities (restrooms in particular) that align with what they look like. I think it is worse for transgender people to have to go into private, personal things like lockers and bathrooms based on their biological sex… worse on them and everyone else using the facility. However, I can see why women’s teams might be concerned about trans women having physical abilities based on their denser bones and overall equipment they were born with.
A person I deal with from time to time in my professional life has transitioned from female to male, over several years. Since the transition, he has become very clearly much happier. I think it’s great.
Yes, because we know that there are many men willing to have their genitals removed and go through endless months of chemical treatments and reconstructive surgery in order to destroy their bodies, just because then they can compete in women’s athletics.
Not to mention having to listen to the never ending belittling comments of the socially backward and closed minded.
CT has no restrictions on trans athletes competing in sports as they identify. Two guys transitioning to being girls have been running track and winning every event they’re in, including the state championships. They look like dudes, run like dudes, their DNA says they’re dudes. They have an unfair advantage. If they’re happier as girls then more power to them but this is where the issue starts to infringe on other people’s lives.

I think women and girls are more concerned about DaVos and the GOP chipping away and killing Title 9.

What? Women’s sports are suddenly going to get that popular? This is just insulting Bok.

This turns out not to be the case:

Gender transitions do not appear to show any advantage in athletics.

I wonder how long it will take for female athletes to get fed up and put an end to this.

I care more that a male to female has an unfair advantage in women’s sports. Than what happen’s after they die.

Yes, Chip. Let’s find a new minority to target.

Once, again, Bok has entered an area where he’s not very knowledgeable … Perhaps he should stick to the ‘Art of Deal Making…’

Reminds me of the East Germans giving hormones to the gals back in the day. Except this time, they are born with the hormones – cheating either way.
