@DrDon1. I hope you are not referring to AOC as ‘educated’. If you are, then you must be indicting our educational system. Many people have predicted the end of the world. All have been wrong. I can’t believe that even she believes it will be 12 years. From the ice-ages predicted in the 70’s to the great ball of fire predicted in the 2000’s, the Earth is still turning. She is fun to watch though – much better theater than Pelosi.

Seems like the old time media has developed an obsession for AOC. Even I know she was a bartender – TMI.

Seems like AOC or that old white guy are next in line for party head. So many options, so little to choose from.

@GaryWIlliams. America is a unique political experiment. It is one of the best countries in the word – THE best from many perspectives. Anyone who doesn’t want it to be great has plenty of other options. Mexico and Canada are close – plenty of free stuff, if you can wait for it wink.

@concretionist. I guess only people who believe as you do deserve full freedoms…

Seriously, dress up? Costumes Parties? Who cares? There are serious issues that really need addressing. Seems like the media are always crying ‘squirrel’ and finding plenty of looky-loos to go along with them so that any real progress or serious dialog is never achieved.

40% of world power is from coal. China consumes over 50% of the world’s coal, with India using about 12%. In contrast, the U.S. consumes 9% of the world’s coal with Europe at 8%. US coal use has peaked and is expected to remain mostly constant for the next several years. Increasing steel and also electric car use by developing countries will necessitate more coal use. While it is true that US coal plants are aging and regulations and cheaper natural gas are killing anything new, coal will still be in some demand – just not as much as previously. All that aside, I don’t think airplanes are going away soon. I guess with all the hot air (renewable resource) from Washington, we are expected to use balloons :)

We have a long street near my house. They fixed the side that was in good shape. They did nothing to the side that was crumbling with holes, etc. Well, since they put in the sidewalks on BOTH sides of that street a few years back for the average daily traffic of 3 people, I’m sure the street is OK even if it has a lot of holes.Funny part is that they had to re-cut the curb because they made it so dangerous when they put it in. They still haven’t re-cut at another street where all the buses have to ruin their wheels because they can’t make the turn now. Great government planning guys sarcasm.
