I’m guessing Ellie has the opposite problem? So she can take a selfie while covered in dirt and brambles, and still somehow come out looking fabulous.

You don’t think this arc is gonna go to Sedine wanting to get plastic surgery? If so in panel#1 she’d have to add something else with the word “big”. :D

A bad selfie is easily deleted, Ellie. The real tragedy is that you have no clue that Hubbs has no clue that Al is a woman. My advice is that you send Hubbs a series of selfies in which you change from “Al” into Ellie. Or won’t his mom let him have a phone?

She looks like a waitress working at a lousy diner part time trying to earn extra money so she can buy her son a bike for his birthday because her husband/his father left them.

Maybe someone hacked into your camera, Sedine. That can’t be you, can it?

Maybe Sedine has a filter set on her phone that is doing it and Miss Ellie will figure that out for her. She does know phones, after all :-)

She must have inadvertently downloaded the ‘Picture of Dorian Gray’ app

Immediately after Ellie says ‘Oh my! That is Tragic!’, queue Bee Gee’s, singing, ’It’s a Tragedy’…

This supports my hypothesis that Ellie’s presence causes the distortions in Sedine’s phone. The closer she gets, the greater the distortion. Sedine seriously needs to consider the Wicked Queen approach I suggested yesterday or whenever: some properly treated Honeycrisps will put Ellie out of the picture and restore Sedine’s selfie-satisfied state, as the phone assures her she is once again the fairest in the land.

This leads naturally to another Hubbs-“Al”-Ellie romance conclusion scenario, as Hubbs, overcoming his caligynephobia at last, kisses the dormant Ellie, restoring her to life and assuring that Sedine never gets more than 2 bars for the rest of her cartoon life.

Here’s an idea, have someone else take your picture. Maybe the distance will improve the look
