“Excessive Force”: This is different than “overwhelming force”. Excessive Force: people are injured / killed. Overwhelming force: people surrender immediately. Was Mr. Stone injured? Killed? Killed repeatedly, like Amadou Diallo (41 shots)? The little bit of outcry about excessive force should be embarrassing.
Not a bad thing altogether. Getting all those lying folks and despite Rudy noting that it was, “only another indictment for lying and obstruction” this is serious. Lying to investigators is not a “nobody got hurt” crime. It is an integrity and honesty issue and lying does hurt at not getting to the bottom of a bigger issue. In this case, hope Mueller has another two years to ferret out the weasels.
The FBI was also armed with Roger Stone’s text messages threatening federal witnesses such as “Prepare to die, *c***sucker!” To anyone paying attention to facts and not their own bias, the FBI response was appropriate.
I can see where they would come in fast to grab his computer and stuff like that. A half dozen agents maybe. Catch him in his jammies and lock everything down.
But heavy weapons? Armored vehicles? Scuba cops in the canal to prevent his escape out the back door? For a civil process crime?
Come on people. The judge let him walk with ZERO bail. This was pure theater.

Simply Varvel-ous. (Or is Varvel just simple?)

I guess if conservatives can object to excessive use of force by the police in this case, it proves that Punxsutawney Phil isn’t a minority.

Sorry Phil, this is what happens when you tamper with weather predictions on behalf of Russians.

I don’t think the target gets to choose the level of force employed.

The only ‘hog’ Mr. Mueller is hunting is the ‘pig’ in the white house.

I’m not sure I get this. Is Varvel actually saying that the Mueller probe is out of hand and goes too far?

Stone: The FBI attacked me in force and threatened my dog and wife!
Next day Stone said: The FBI were very professional and courteous.
So much electronic material was taken from Stone that it will take more than 2 months to go through it.

^ Perfect indeed. We who screamed “Lock her up” at Hillary have now discovered the importance of due process for Stone.
