The most interesting part about being married to a wildlife veterinarian is being called out in the middle of the night. A couple of weeks ago we were called about a couple of grey foxes that had taken up residence in the shrubs outside one house. We discovered that they had made a den just below where the dryer vented through the outside wall. The little stinkers can be very enterprising!
Strangely enough most animals don’t seem particularly thrilled with winter not to mention snow. Amazing the adaptability of various animals. Winter leads to fewer hours at the grocery stores. Somehow they manage to live while spawning and rearing their posterity. While watching them the similarity of ingenuity is regularly displayed. I’ve seen them adapt during years of continuing terribly severe drought. This is a trait shared with humans. If not, then all would cease to exist.
