thinking of a career, Lucille?
Where’s Lucy gong with this one? Might be skipping a while!
I only learned of this nursery rhyme from John le Carré, who used it for his spy novel “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.”
There was a mini series named “Rich man, Poor man.”
So now we’re naming jobs huh. I can do that. Plumber.. I give up. That’s the the only interesting career I can think of
“… Social Media Specialist …”
Lucy is being “politically correct”, not mentioning “Indian Chief”.
great aerobic capacity to skip the rope and name all those jobs at the same time!
I can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, yet little girls can jump rope and rhyme at the same time.
? Does anyone jump rope for fun anymore?
Modern version…
From an old folk song. “Tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor, rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief.”
good thought – poor rhyme and meter
I was around when they changed the eenie, meenie, miney, moe slur which, in very progressive Minnesota, was shunned quite quickly…
Dog washer.
Dandelion don’t tell no lies
Not politically correct to say Indian Chief?
I’m an American (Indian) card and all….it doesn’t bother me in the slightest…I used to jump rope myself singing this song…people need to get over stuff…Like “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me…”
Lucy forgot, “presidential candidate”.
Is Lucy looking for a mate?! I’m thinking the septic guy would work for her!
…Research Scholar,…*trip*
We used to sing this song when we played Double Dutch jumping rope.
………Beagle……
That’s funny.
