Just have a box of your favorite pasta and make your own helper from scratch. Most helper has very little flavor so you always have to add to it. Thus the reason for making it from scratch ;-)
I remember watching Welcome Back Kotter back in the day when Gabe said something about his uncles (I think) tuna noodle casserole and not really liking it. All I commented was “ya”. I don’t remember having it again.
I remember trying Hamburger Helper when it first came out. I came to the conclusion that it was an overpriced way of adding spices and thickener to meat and I’d be better doing it myself! The only thing it was “helping” was the manufacturers’ stockholders.

I wouldn’t be complaining. I hated tuna helper.

Are you sure? Have you generally watched her make it?

not unless she’s been using one big can that equals two small cans

That vile deed must not go unpunished.

That’s one way of looking at it. The other is that she’s giving twice as much helper as most people.

Once a week for 40 years is 2,080 extra cans of tuna in the next casserole!

She’s trying to stretch out the tuna…unless you can afford to buy mulitple cans!

Maybe that’s why Muffin is so fat.

Grounds for divorce. Well, that and her coffee

The reason you need two cans is because each can is half water.

Tuna doesn’t need help
