Like Earl can’t clean his eyeglasses in order to see the words “large” and “extra large” on the eggs’ cartons? (Touché, Opal.)

Maybe Opal should go on a diet by switching from extra large to large. Why does she care so much about egg size?

I have to agree with Earl on this. I’ve compared large and extra large eggs before. Couldn’t tell any difference except the price.

He should have bought “Extra Medium”.

Underware too small will make the egg count too small.

I’m surprised he didn’t just get another 6 pack of eggs, and say “I got you some extra, just like you asked!”

De she want Extra Large eggs, or did she want extra Large Eggs? No matter what Earl got, Opal would’ve complained.

The point that Earl didn’t get what she asked, and didn’t bother to read the egg containers that are usually clearly marked “Large” and “Extra Large” seems to be overlooked here……………..

Tell you what, Earl. Buy large or extra large new glasses.

I think the inflation in class grades has been compensated for by a diminution in egg size rating

I have my doubts that each egg in the extra-large carton is really “extra-large”. It seems all relative. False advertising? A rip-off? I question their sorting process.

An extra large egg has about one ounce more of egg white than a large egg. If a recipe requires one large egg, using an extra large would have little or no effect. If the recipe requires several large eggs using extra large could cause poor results. For example, using four extra large eggs in lieu of four large eggs would be like using four-and-a-half to five large eggs. Baked goods wouldn’t set right. If using large in place of extra large in a recipe asking for several extra large could result in a dry, “over baked” result. (I do quite a bit of baking, and I can’t remember any recipe specifying the size of the eggs. But I don’t remember any that used more than two eggs.)
