It isn’t the infinite beyond Calvin dreads. It’s the 9 am to 3 pm finite known that terrifies him.

And to make sure he had no brothers or sisters Mom had her tubes tied and Dad had a vasectomy. They didn’t want to take any chances.

Mom’s facial expression reminds me of me when my daughter kept on unlocking her seat belt when I was trying to get her to school. The only solution was to be convincing enough that she may not do that and children do not always listen to reason. She probably had some imagination in which it was necessary not to be buckled up in the car.

haha, such a classic image- Calvin all splayed out in the doorway, impossibly stretching as he does so, is SO funny just on visual impact alone. Never mind when you consider the hilarity of him actually trying to fight his own mother this way.

There is no escaping the horrors of this infinite beyond!

I hated school till about 35. Then I went to night school to learn to program before my plant failed. I did it with 2 years to spare. The plant closed and I got another job programming. The incentive was so great I got a 3.75 GPA.

Calvin, keep an eye out for a red Tesla Roadster. Maybe you can hitch a ride.

Calvin is as close to my youngest son that I’ve ever seen. I hope for heaven’s sake that you aren’t writing this from personal experience. Guess I need to add that he just turned 50 this year and really straightened out and is a model father and son. . . .a few years in the 82nd Airborne didn’t hurt him any.. . .. Ha!

If Calvin doesn’t change his attitude toward school he will grow up to be a cartoonist…

School never felt weightless to me.
