Sad, too. I keep calling out Scott Stantis for always implying that Hillary ’s going to run again. And now, Hillary seems to be making me eat crow. Again.
Is Hillary the best Democrats can come up with?
I still won’t vote for Trump, so that means, if Hillary it is, then Hillary it is.
But Democrats have got to come up with something better than I’m not Trump!
I don’t like supporters of neoliberal (supply-side) economics in either of the parties that claim they represent our best interests but actually serve themselves, their party or their sponsors. I want a socially progressive, fiscally conservative, knowledgeable candidate that most people find personally agreeable with a track record of team building across the aisle and working for country above party and most importantly someone who will not ignore segments of society that are not part of their party’s base … someone who can win an election based on their proposals alone.
In 1844, 3 presidents ran, Martin Van Buren, James Buchanan, and James K. Polk, all from the Democratic Party. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StTiCU_fqCg
Hillary Clinton would be a thoroughly capable candidate, at least for the primaries! She also would serve as the ultimate distraction for Donnie, as well.
Unfortunately, the adage “try and try again” sometimes does result in victory, as illustrated by the fact that former “minister” (in quotations because it seems he spent more time running for office than running a church) and serial Republican candidate-for-any-office-he-can-think-of Mark Harris will now be representing the 9th Congressional district of North Carolina. In any normal scenario, someone like Harris, whose blueprint for America would make a good script for an episode of “The Handmaid’s Tale”, wouldn’t get within sniffing distance of a political office where he could do any real harm. But with NC’s extremely gerrymandered Congressional districts … barely more than 50% of votes cast in the state’s Congressional races this year went to Republicans but NC’s delegation in the House will still be 10 Republicans and 3 Democrats … all Harris needed to do was “primary” the incumbent Republican since he knew he would run in a general election where the vast majority of voters would vote for a dead possum so long as it had an ‘R’ next to it on the ballot. :-\
In L. Frank Baum’s book, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” Bryan was represented by the Lion and the slippers were “Free Coinage of Silver” (in the book, the slippers were silver).

Why, that’s America, America
Have you heard the news?
That’s the lucky place where any resident
Can grow up to be President
Unless he’s Landon or Dewey
Or Humphrey or Mondale
