Our polling place had three paper ballot stations for anyone who didn’t want to use their new “dial” voting machines, so at least for some voters, there will be a paper trail. However, our idiot state is red, and requires IDs – so they have a new electronic version of the registered voter books. This I do not like AT ALL. Hackable, easily purged, and leaves citizens vulnerable to identity theft. One step forward with the paper ballots, but then two steps back.

Now imagine getting to vote by internet. IN the tv series “Max Headroom” (1985-1986) they had voting by Internet. And talked about how they artificially raised all the numbers to make it look like more were voting than not.

A tv show still ahead of its time. We are getting much closer now since then. One of the 2 cyberpunk tv shows. The other was “Dark Angel” in the 1990’s. Though “Robo Cop” might qualify. Both the live action and the cartoons.

Dictatorships are easy. No thinking needed. Don’t worry, It won’t matter if it’s a right or left dictatorship, you will still lose your guns. Sad!

Maybe exaggerating just a little. I’d say not “totalitarian rule”, just an oligarchy by and for the 1% (or maybe 2% if we are “lucky”).

“I want a fascist police state, anything else is socialism,” say too many voters.

Not appropriate this year. 2018 is the election to try to stop things from going to Hell. 2020 is the year to choose the society we want.

Voldemort was elected to Congress from Florida, and his son will be governor. Between the two of them, they will eliminate any insurance coverage for pre-existing medical conditions, except, of course, for those of members of Congress…

From a couple of years ago, but still relevant: “If you vote against Obama because he can’t get stuff done, it’s kind of like saying ‘This guy can’t cure cancer, I’m gonna vote for cancer!’.” —Chris Rock, American comedian

Brian Kemp won in Georgia. Kris Kobach lost in Kansas. Lesson learned by Republicans? Cheating bigger and bolder is what works!
