Yet a cat’s reaction would be “Oh, were you gone? I hadn’t noticed. But now that you’re back, get into the kitchen and fix me something to eat — I’m starved!”
In 1975 my parents celebrated their 25th anniversary. One gift they got was a cruise. We had a miniature Cocker Spaniel named Daisy, who was especially close to my mother. The entire week my parents were gone Daisy spent under their bed. She wouldn’t come out for ANYTHING (except “potty”). The noise she made when they came home was nearly deafening!
Please quit the television watching strips. Most of the time, they’re no good; and this one was the worst one because the title character Garfield wasn’t even in it. If there others where someone’s watching the television while he’s doing who knows what whether it’s eating or sleeping, then it’s tied for the worst one. Sunday’s the only day off the week where I pay to read the funnies by buying a newspaper, and I like to see Garfield in each of the Sunday ones where someone else is in there too. I hate these television watching strips so much that I wish Jim Davis or one of his writing staff would do one where something happens to cause the television to break down and Jon suggests some dorky activity to take its place and Garfield says he’d rather take a nap.

Scruffy probably wrecked havoc while the owner was away.

Why does it feel Odie is more amusing than Garfield himself these days?

It’s always the waiting that gets you, especially if you are dependent on someone else.

Yay! Happy ending.

It’s cruel to have one pet if you’re gone nine or ten hours a day.

I can’t even get into my truck before one of our dogs starts howling how he’s been alone sooo long. We have 5 dogs. And a cat. And a bird.

At least Scruffy’s owner doesn’t have a Roomba which automatically comes out during the day and vacuums. Talk about ramping up the level of horror.

One of my cats suffers from separation anxiety. My sister left & (when my cat thought no one was here) the cat started meowing like crazy! :-(
