Go back to “Lio” Beidermeister and leave "Monty alone.

Prithee bestow upon us a veritable cornucopia, nay a smorgasbord, of logorrhea, verbiage, loquaciousness and verbosity, Mr. Meddick!

Just so everyone who is not from New York knows, Syosset, Long Island is a real place.

Just wondering if Meddick’s Mr. Biedermeister is secretly a plug for the Bagel Master, a well known store in Syosset

Au contraire, Biedermeister. The Sunday strips where Monty is stranded on a desert island (typically) and doesn’t say a word until the last panel are the boring ones. It’s Jim’s skill with dialogue that makes Monty the funniest comic strip in the world.

Tension? —I’ll show you tension, apprehension, and dissention! (With apologies to Alred Bester.)

Gimme a talking comic strip! I like words!
